It is a clinically-orientated healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Massage therapy can be an important part maintaining your health by:

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that is typically used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. The massage involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target inner layers of muscles and connective tissues. This process will reduce tension in muscle and tissue and break up any scar tissue that will form from an injury. With the increased blood flow, it may also provost faster healing and reduces inflammation.

Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Deep tissue massages focus on treating muscle pain and improve stiffness, rather than other massage techniques that focus more on relaxation.

Deep tissue massage helps with:

  • sports injuries

  • fibromyalgia

  • plantar fasciitis

  • high blood pressure

  • sciatica

  • tennis elbow

During a relaxation massage, there is less emphasis on adhesions or knots in the muscle tissue. With that being said, the massage therapist will instead focus on more of a relaxing tempo and longer strokes. In some cases, clients can enter such a deep state of relaxation that they fall asleep.

Relaxation massages help with:

  • reducing levels of cortisol in the body

    • lowers stress levels

  • reduces muscular tension

  • increases and promotes blood circulation and tissue healing

  • creates a feeling of ease and mental clarity

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage therapy uses the direct heat of the stones to relax muscles, allowing the therapist access to deeper muscle layers. The hot stones help expand blood vessels, which allows better blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones also have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

Hot stone massages help with:

  • decreasing pain and muscle spasms

  • reducing chronic stress and tension

  • increasing flexibility in joints for better mobility

  • relieving pain and tension due to strain and contracted muscles
